All guitar parts written and recorded from February 10th-17th by John Guest in his home studio. Mason Macias wrote and recorded the drum parts some time in May, later to be rerecorded in June at UTSA's downtown studio. Aaron Goekler wrote and recorded the bass parts for "Part II", "Part III" and "Part VI". Sergio Lozano wrote, arranged and performed all the viola parts in March 2011. All samples come from La Jetee (1962). The album was engineered by Mason Macias in San Antonio, TX in late June 2011. The Pier is an alternate soundtrack to Chris Marker's 1962 film, La Jetee. To watch simultaneously, start the album at 00:32 seconds into the film. However, one doesn't need to view the film with this album to appreciate it. We actually recommend that you listen to it by itself the first time. The Pier is and always will be a free download, but please donate something to us if you like it so we can continue to do what we love. We had an amazing time making this record and we hope you enjoy it. The Pier is 6 track EP and you can download it for free below.

EP 1 by The Dawn And My Appeal is essentially a 17 minute assault on your ears, a lo-fi, hard rock, post-hardcore inspired record. John Guest made this EP before Melcher Rockwood and Aaron Goekler officially joined the project, but the latter does make an appearance on the album's third track, "Irvin Harbor", for which he sang and wrote the lyrics. The album's final track, "Wheel Me In" features additional vocals by Kristi Schkade. The album was self-produced, mastered and released by John in December 2010 in his home studio. It's to be followed by the their self-titled debut LP in August 2011. Listen to the single of that record here. All tracks written and recorded by John Guest. The Dawn And My Appeal is a six track EP. You can download it for free below.

After two years of countless house shows and performances at local venues, Lazy Native has built up a small but dedicated fan base. This week the band quietly released their debut album. The eponymous work was completely self-produced by the band and mastered by guitar player Cody Spence. Native mixes songs that feel hopeful and upbeat with songs that are sorrowful and forlorn. Truly stand out tracks are “Painful Love” and “As It Comes and Goes” which are perfectly paired together and show Native’s talent for creating layered songs that draw in the listener. The final act of the album saves the band’s heaviest and rocking tracks “Blind” and “Where I Wanna Be” for last. Native has managed to transfer their energetic bluesy live sound from stage to album extremely well because of the emotion in their songs from Melcher Rockwood’s smoky and soulful vocals that are haunting like Layne Staley’s or Curt Cobain’s. Sleep All Day's first and last record, Elefant, was recorded in San Antonio, TX in the summer of 2008 by Mario Salazar. The album features vocalist Kristen Lindsley, John Guest on guitar and piano, Steven Garcia on bass and Mason Macias on drums. All songs except "Elefant" were written by John Guest, who also wrote the lyrics for "Ike, My Friend". Kristen wrote and sang all the lyrics for every other track on the album. Steven Garcia wrote "Elefant". "Farewell to the Ashes" features John Guest on vocals. "Fireman" and "Present Tense" feature Mario Salazar on lead guitar. The band supported the album for six months, while also working on their followup, Everything Turns Into Nothing. After the recording of Elefant, Sleep All Day recruited drummer Luke Angle due to distance from Mason. The band never officially broke up, but has been on indefinite hiatus since early 2009. Elefant is a nine track album.
